OUR HISTORY

Shattuck was founded in 1987 in Austin, Texas by Greg Shattuck following the footsteps of J.C. Harper Auctioneers, an auctioneering firm that originated in 1918 in San Antonio.  Originally named Shattuck and Associates Auctioneers, Shattuck conducted scores of hospital liquidations and surplus medical equipment auctions and became well known in the industry for its expertise in remarketing this class of equipment in the late 1980's and early 1990's.

With its commitment to innovation and change, Shattuck became one of the first auction companies to go online conducting its first online auction in 2000.  As the popularity and success of online auctions grew, Shattuck partnered with ProAce, an Austin-based technology firm, to build a proprietary online auction platform specifically designed to meet the unique needs of its clients. In 2005, Shattuck and ProAce launched SlapSale.com as a sister entity focused solely on online auctions.

By 2008 Shattuck was conducting 100% of its auctions online and Shattuck and Associates Auctioneers merged with SlapSale under one roof as Shattuck LLC.

Today Shattuck sells millions of dollars of healthcare, laboratory and technologic equipment, electronic test and measurement equipment, telecommunications equipment, dietary and food service equipment, office furniture systems, power generation equipment, manufacturing equipment, vehicles, and surplus and recyclable materials for government, industry, and banking.

The success and longevity of Shattuck is directly related to its high level of service, follow through, and effective marketing tools that it provides its clientele. Shattuck's contract renewal rate exceeds 99%, which is a loud testament to the Shattuck team's commitment to customer service.
